Tivoli Whirl yarn - LOVE IT!

Well people, it's been a crazy couple of days.  I had intended to do this blog Sunday night when I finished the scarf but all hell broke loose.  My brother was messing outside with his friends and long story short ended up falling and breaking his fibula.  He's in Tullamore Hospital at the moment and literally just after texting to say his surgery is over.  So I'm making this blog a quick one - just going to add some picures of the scarf.  The yarn is called Tivoli Whirl and it's shade 968.

How it started off.

The finished product!

Gotta go, toodles!!!

My funky new wool.. :)

Hello people..  :)  Hope you're all doing well.

I was in Athlone today on the way home from Mr. Boyfriend's house and had an hour to spare.  I remembered a craft shop I was in called Singer's (near Mary's Discount Store and The Suede Bar) ages ago and decided to go in for a browse.  I saw some absolutely gorgeous wool that I just had to have so here are some pictures.

This first one is Patons Fab DK shade 02324, it's just so colourful!  I don't really know what I'm going to knit out of it but I couldn't leave the shop without it!

How funky is this lads??!  Also, you like my sparkly silver nail polish?  :P

This second one is Tivoli Whirl shade 968.  It's pretty cool wool.  To knit an absolutely awesome scarf all you need is one ball of this wool and 8mm needles.  Each ball is about €7 or so.  They'd make really gorgeous presents for people, I'm seriously thinking of making a few in different colours.  Especially seeing as I'm not exactly rolling in money at the moment.  I'm also going to add a picture of the scarf I've started.  I'm so chuffed that it's actually turning out how it's supposed to!

If anybody wants to know how to knit with this wool click here!  The wool shown in the video is different but the method is the same.  Also, the uploader uses 4 stitches but the woman in the shop was knitting one herself with 8 stitches so I decided to follow her advice because I really like the scarf she showed me.  It's actually pretty simple once you get the hang of it.  It does take concentration though.  Watch the video a couple of times and have a go!  If can do it, anybody can.

Well that's all I have to say right now.

Toodles!

First post.. here goes!

Welcome, welcome!  I'm a bit nervous about starting this but hey, I've nothing better to do.  I'm trying to lose some weight at the moment and I eat when I'm bored so this should keep me busy.  Hopefully it won't bore anyone else though!  I put up half a stone over the last six week so that made me an unhappy bunny needless to say.

Well for my first post I just decided to post some pictures of some of the stuff I've already got finished.  I actually started knitting in primary school but didn't take it up again until about 2 or 3 years ago.  I don't knit constantly really, I take it up every few months and half finish a project.  I finished knitting a scarf yesterday, I'm ridiculously proud of myself!

Here are some pics...

Cute little teddies - I know the yellow one has no face just FYI..  :P

I doubled the pattern for the little bears and this is how it turned out..

Just a comparison of the tiny teddy and the big teddy..

Wrist warmer - I love love LOVE that paintbox wool!

Another wrist warmer - I love that pink wool too!

Red and white striped scarf - measures about 6ft.  It's for my bf who's an Arsenal fan.. Weirdly enough I finished it while watching the Man Utd match the other day..

That's it for my first entry guys..  I hope you weren't bored.  If you want any info about any of the projects or you would like me to post the pattern just leave a comment and I'll do my best.  Later!

Thanks for reading!
